Astrid Wortelboer was born in Den Haag. From 1978 – 1988 she worked at NOS-Television as a director’s and producer’s assistant for many, mostly cultural, national and international productions - with a variety of directors such as Hans Hulscher, Jaap Drupsteen, Erik van Zuylen, Jan Keja, DR’s Thomas Grimm and José Montes-Baquer (WDR).
From 1988 – 1994 she was on the staff of NOS/ NPS Cultural Department as a director/ producer, after which she continued in a free-lance capacity.
Most of her production work in the latter phase were within the cultural domain, including tv documentaries and animation.
For H & W’s productions she acts as the executive producer, as well as doing research.
